How come that there isn't a mame emulator that can recognize all mame games, without giving errors... , I got Mame 0.81 now and even if I upgrade , there's still a lot of roms that are incorrect and don't show up in the audit ....
What roms match what emulator in Mame for gods sake...
I'm lost on how to correctly collect
Thank you
Ralph

There are places where you can buy DVD's full of Mame roms for a particular release. As far as knowing which ones are which, you would have to know what they updated within the roms, unzip it, and look at each individual rom file... NOT FUN.

Every rom on rom-world is supposedly updated to work on the newest version of MAME (.97). You could be forgetting BIOS files such as neogeo.zip, you could be downloading clone roms instead of the largest rom available, or the games you wish to play have simply not been emulated yet.
GIGO.

What about DJ Boy for example? I was told it won't run on anything, so why is it even up there? I'm not missing a Bios for that am I?

jimbo have you looked at the mam.net site, ther is a list there of games supported...DJ boy is listed as not working... so until one of us learns how to crack roms we stuck waiting for the people that are working on the project... and they have covered themselves pretty well by saying that they work for free and in their spare time... of course you could try contacting one of them and resort to good old fashioned bribery

What game?
I dont know its name, but its definitly not in any mame or other arcade emus...Ive been looking for it from 0.70's mame versions and have checked all added games from then and still nothing....not to mention alotta other ways Ive trired too...
I asked about it in another forum and it baffled a lot of people who would usually get such a conspicuious sounding game, but now Im 99% sure its not been emulated from hours spend searching.....

You should describe the game atleast.
The point is why put it (DJ Boy) on rom-world if it doesnt work?

I'm assuming in case an aspiring programmer wants to take a crack at emulating it. They'd need a rom for testing, right?

they probabaly might but seeing i'm not a programmer aspiring or other wise...i'll throw money at the problem until it goes away...well figuratively anyway
