game of low volume

When playing games, the default volume is so low, so I press the F2 key and try to adjust the voulme; but I don't know how to:

How can I adjust the symbol +

1) What emulator are you using?
2) Is your volume low on all the games you play, or just when playing games with that emulator?

MAME, I am using MAME..

Many games appear to be low volume, and I think I should change something on the config of this game, so I press the F2 button, and I see this pattern:

VOULUME. 39
MIN MAX
(----+--------)

But I just don't know how to adjust the " + " sybmol to right hand side!

Once you have the OSD up, use the cursor keys (L/R) to change volume, and use the up/down keys to scroll through a list of things to change; gamma, overclocking individual processors' emulation speed, individual sound channel or chip volumes etc.

You can also adjust the default volume on a game by game basis using many of the MAME frontends out there. This is very handy for games that are unusually loud or soft.
