For the SNES, I liked playing Sunset Riders (gameplay is kinda like Contra), and for NeoGeo, Blazing Star is a cool game (it's kinda like R-Type).

You could also try Metal Combat (SNES). It's a first-person shooting game that uses the Super Scope.
