Any bird's eye shooter's better than Raiden?

I'm living in Japan right now, and there are some raiden-esk games that are out of this world. The graphics are unbelievable and the powerups are really cool. Can someone give me a list of really good overhead shooters?

I never saw what was so great about raiden anyway... everyone seems to think highly of it... did I miss something?

Raiden II isn't fully working yet- the MAME devs haven't cracked the sprite encryption. Give them time; they'll get it working sooner or later.

theres a old pc game called Raptor which kicks raidens ass i dont know where you can find it nowadays though
