Define "2D" and I'll say if I agree or disagree.

I mean I'm just not down with 3d games like Tekken, mortal combat etc, I like games like metal slug, final fight, street fighter * with exceptions to EX3, or what ever it's called.

Well, Madden is better in 3D..., and what about FPS games?

Start menu, run, cmd (or command) to open a DOS(ish) box, then type ipconfig [enter]

That's it.

Mthoks9000, i've haven't had one on this forum.

Jeff_ZN, what about sneaking up on the enemy in Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid... or with Wolverine and his Stealth Attacks in X2: Wolverine's Revenge

Does it count as a 2D game if you can move up and down in the background/foreground? (8 way directional movement)

Also what's the definition of a "platformer"? Wouldn't just about any game where you have the option to jump be considered as such?

Graphics don't mean anything when it comes to how good a game is. However, that doesn't mean 2-D games are better than 3-D games. I would much rather play Metal Slug than Daikatana, but I'd also much rather play Ninja Gaiden than Gunforce.

Now stop being a fanboy. God hates fanboys.

Who said anything about graphics?

2-D and 3-D pertain to the look of a game. Hence, graphics.

I think graphics have more to with the aesthetic quality of the images being displayed. 2D/3D is more like... eh... format.

Or am I being a fanboy?

The second one.

Yeah, well certainly nobody with 1700+ posts on an emulation based forum could ever be considered a fanboy...

What does my being here 3 1/2 years at rom-world have to do with my being a fanboy? Fanboy = somone unfairly biased due to no real reason. For example, somone who would say something like this: "I love nintendo because they're awesome! Sony and Micro$oft (lol, money sign!!1!) 5uXx0r!"

Edit: and in case there was any misconception, I was calling Mthoks a fanboy in that first post, not you Jimmy.

Nintendo sucks man, they just suck... They don't have any good games that aren't on the other systems. Also i hate everything on gameboy nowdays even ff tactics and I loved the first one. I hate the direction they've take with Legend of Zelda since the one on 64 as well. But they are Nintendo and they'll be making games a hundred years from now, because of that name.

Xbox is a little better system than PS2, that's a given. I'd say PS2 has the better games- but I'm sure there are many who would disagree. I think we've seen the end of the "system wars" from the 70's-90's. All 3 systems seem to have tremendous staying power, and I don't think there's any room on the market for more than that. Then again, you never know...
