Download problems, still...

Hello!

I recently stumbled upon rom-world.com and was suitably impressed at the range of roms available - and that there are even different versions of the same games... fwoa!

And then I tried to download Mortal Kombat II 3.1 for MAME, and was disappointed when it didn't work. *I've tried to download a few different roms from a few different systems (MAME, genesis, snes) and none of them are working for me. *

When I click to download a rom a new page opens up, but no download action happens. *I can only see the name and filename of what I want to download, within the normal rom-world frame - banner across the top, site map to the left. *For example, ROM World > MAME > M > Mortal Kombat II (rev L3.1) | mk2.zip. *There's no error message - it's just that nothing appears to be happening.

If the recent new server-ness is now all complete and lovely, and considering I'm running IE6 and that I'm not running any download managers, what else could be the cause of the download problems?

did anyone else find this difficult to figure out? im curious to know if I should move it up a little.

No, Force. I find the site a cinch to use. BTW: The &quot;click on two adlinks then you'll get your DL&quot; thing you've set up is great. It's much preferable to popups.

Curious that you say these alleged directions are located towards the bottom of the page, cause it would seem that either the directions aren't there or I'm taking crazy pills.

there are directions there. In case you are scrolling impaired here are the directions word for word:

YOU ONLY HAVE TO VOTE ONCE PER DAY

Download Instructions:
1) Click HERE and press the vote button in the new window. Close that window.
2) Repeat step one, 1-3 times until your download starts.

My mouse wheel works just fine, metalslugger, and I do indeed have the motivation to use it.

The directions aren't there. &nbsp;Please don't patronise me.

Metalslugger, I have no doubt that I should be seeing the instructions, and while I appreciate the help - assuming that I was in fact just stupid, a verbatim copy of the instructions would have proven exceedingly effective. *However, there is something I want you to try and get your head around.

Those instructions are not on the download page that I'm seeing.

Everyone is weird in their own special way, to the extent where one is weird when one is not.

make sure you're using Internet Explorer 6.0, have no download managers running, and have cookies enabled. Other than tose, there should be no reason it doesn't work. Also, I'm just trying to help. I may seem a bit mean but that's just because we get alot of people posting saying &quot;It doesn't work! help!!1!!&quot;. I in no way meant to insult your intelligence.

I do understand that you guys must get rather pissed at people turning up here yelling 'help me!' without giving much background info. &nbsp;Thanks for trying to help.

Got IE6. &nbsp;No download managers. &nbsp;Am currently accepting all cookies (lowest privacy level possible).

Only thing that I can think of at the moment is that ZoneAlarm may be messing with something going on. &nbsp;Perhaps.
