Sakura and Tori's mother, Natasha, died when Sakura was just a baby. But Sakura still dreams about her and Tori's pretty sure he's seen her ghost checking in on them from time to time
We already met Sakura and learned her incantation in the About Card Captors section, but just to refresh... she's the main character of the story. She accidentally released the Clow Cards and is on a mission to recapture them all.
Sakura's older brother -- he's in Grade 11. He loves to torment Sakura (but will stick up for her if anyone else tries to!). Tori's quite busy with his schoolwork, part time job and soccer (his favorite hobby)
Sakura's friends and classmates. They don't know about the Clow Cards but sometimes get caught in the middle of an adventure without realizing it. Chelsea and Nikki are in cheerleading with Sakura. Zacchary is the class president.
Tori Avalon's best friend, Julian, works very hard at school and sports and lives with his grandparents. He's a nice guy that Sakura has a big crush on. Trouble is, she gets a bit kerfuddled whenever he's around and just ends up stammering and blushing a whole bunch.
Besides being cute, Julian has a secret even he doesn't know. The Clow Cards were made by a powerful sorceror named Clow Reed. He used both eastern and western magic, to create the cards. When he created the Clow Card Book, he was said that he split into two people. One of them is Yue in human form, and the other is Eriols. The secret Julian doesn't know is that he's Yue! (see the guardians section for more on Yue)
Ms. Mackenzie is Sakura's new math teacher. Sakura really likes her, but there's something about her that Li isn't so sure about. She seems to have some sort of magical powers and often shows up when Sakura is capturing Clow Cards.
a very grown up 10 year old boy who's also trying to capture the clow cards. Li is a direct descendant of Clow Reed. He comes from a long line of magicians and Clow Reed's spells and history were taught to Li from a very young age. In the beginning, Li didn't think Sakura was good/serious enough to be given the responsibility for the Clow cards, so they were pretty much at war when it came to making captures. But over time, their respect for each other grew and they now mainly work together (they still have the occasional argument -- as friends often will).
Meilin is an exchange student who has come to help Li capture the Clow Cards. She doesn't have any magical powers, but is great at gymnastics, martial arts and sprinting which comes in handy when dealing with the Clow Cards' powers. Meilin secretly has a crush on Li and is jealous of other girls who have anything to do with him (including Sakura!)
This is an odd little stuffed animal looking character -- in fact he pretends to be a stuffed animal when strangers see him. Kero has been the magical Guardian of the Clow Cards for thousands of years. Unfortunately, he was taking a bit of a nap when Sakura came along and accidentally released the cards.
Kero now works with and guides Sakura in her quest to find the cards. He's a bit goofy sometimes, but he can get down to business too.
Kero's favorite pastimes are eating, playing video games and sleeping
Kero's original form isn't actually a little stuffed animal. Once Sakura collects the Earth and Fire cards (they are the source of Kero's power), then he'll change to his true form.
Remember when I mentioned that Kero would revert to his true form when Sakuro got ahold of the Earth and Fire cards? Well she actually manages it and Kero turns into something that looks a bit like a big, winged cat.

Kerberos is the guardian ruled by the sun.
Yue is the second guardian of the Clow Cards (for more info on him, read the piece about Julian). Yue will reveal himself only when Sakura has captured all of the cards. At that point, Yue will test Sakura to judge if she is she is worthy to be the new master of the Clow Cards.
Yue is the guardian ruled by the moon.
