Sylia Stingray
Sylia Stingray is the daughter of Dr. Stingray, the scientist who invented the "Boomer". She also has a brother named Mackie who is 17 years old (he was a perv in the old BGC series). Her father was always obsessed with his work, and usually never spend any time with Sylia. Her mother and she remained close, and when Dr. Stingray was killed in the massive Tokyo earthquake, Sylia didn't even care :(
Sylia runs a clothing store and is also the head of the Knight Sabers. She is somewhat unstable when others talk about machines (you'll see if you watch a few episodes). She seems very social (and is) but also has a small, dark side which we don't see very often. Sylia usually never participates in combat; instead she commands the team from the base. Occasionally, we will see her fight, however.
Her hardsuit is mainly white with some light green and purple highlights. The main weapons she uses include a light saber-esque weapon and blasters. In all honesty, she is my favorite Knight Saber to watch own :) Sylia always puts on a friendly face and is very much an extrovert. Sylia looks and harmless and acts harmless, but don't be fooled. Her voice actress (Japanese) seems like an average woman, not a very special voice like Priss or Nene :) It is also rumored that Sylia herself may be part Boomer or completely Boomer (from the old BGC).
Priss Asagiri
Ahh yes, Priss Asagiri... Arguably the most hated/loved character in Bubble Gum Crisis 2040. Priss is a loner, who usually doesn't like taking help from other people. In the original BGC, she wasn't as much as loner; sure she hated Leon, but otherwise, she was much more social. Ahh, how times have changed. She doesn't talk very often, and hates being slowed down by the rest of the Knight Sabers. She usually goes solo, and tends to act before thinking.
Her voice actress is VERY good, and distinct. Her voice fits her perfectly, in a mysterious sort of way. Priss' singing voice is also very good, as well. The old Priss from BGC had a poufy front hair, the new Priss has a more cat-like look, which I think is great! Priss is probably the most interesting character to watch, regardless if you love her or hate her :) When fighting, she definately shows the most tenacious and vigorous behavior out of all the Knight Sabers.
Priss is the best fighter out of the Knight Sabers (well, we don't see Sylia in action much). Her hardsuit is blue with some red highlights. It includes these super-knuckles which are made to punch through Boomers and destroy their heart. Her red bike is one of her trademark associations, as well as the biker outfit. She acts like a badass, but she really isn't THAT much of a b-----. In fact, if your quiet and a loner like she is (Nigel) you'll probably end up getting along well with her.
Linna Yamazaki
Linna Yamazaki is so boring you wouldn't even imagine her becoming a Knight Saber. Sheesh, all she does is office work all day and get sexually harassed by her boss (but she kicks his ass, don't worry). In the old BGC, she was an aerobics instructor, but now she's a cubicle drone. She was also an excellent fighter in the old series. I don't know if she is as good a fighter. I've seen episodes 1-8 of the show, and since she is a newbie in these episodes, she cannot fight at all.
Being a very plain person, it would only be natural to have a plain sounding voice actress. Well, that's what happened. Like Sylia, she isn't a BAD voice actress, just very plain sounding. But then again, I can't understand Japanese. Out of all characters in BGC2040, she has changed the least from the old series. Her face looks somewhat the same, but she has a different hairdo now.
As of now, Linna has the most technologically advanced hardsuit. It has new weapons, including two long cutters that protrude from her back that can cut through anything. Her hardsuit is mainly olive green, with some other green highlights. Linna joined the Knight Sabers after Priss suggested Linna (she won't admit it). Linna first encountered the Knight Sabers when Priss almost hit her with her bike in Episode 1.
Nene Romanova
Nene Romanova is the most immature of all the Knight Sabers. She acts like a 13 year old and talks in this little cutsie voice. Nene is even more immature in BGC 2040 than in the original BGC. Nene is a computer support officer for the AD Police. As a member of the Knight Sabers, she helps out the team with her computer and hacking skills. She cannot fight at all. Her weapons are mediocre at best, and her combat abilities are virtually non-existant. She calls Leon "Little Leon", which pisses him off. God she's so cutesie, I can't stand it! (See Episode 2 when Leon takes her snack, sheesh).
Well, her looks have changed quite a bit. She is no longer a very long haired red-head. Now Nene has medium length blonde hair. I personally preferred her look in the old BGC. I like Linna's look in 2040 better, as well as Priss' though.
Well, her hardsuit is made for computer support, not combat. Nene's suit is mainly pink with some red highlights. Nene is VERY outgoing in friendly, so much in fact, it may make you nauseous. She even acts cutesie in the middle of combat. Damn, you would think she would take her job more seriously
